Based on a novella by Mikhail Kotsyubynsky (the film was made for the 100th anniversary of his birth). Two Gutsulsky families; Paliychuk and Gutenyuki were quarreling for decades. But it so happened that Ivan Paliychuk fell in love with the beautiful Marichka Gutenyuk.
